The 2009 La Jolla Festival of the Arts takes place June 20-21 in beautiful coastal San Diego county. The 23rd annual event welcomes guests to enjoy the outstanding work of nearly 200 fine artists from the USA and Mexico. You’ll also enjoy the Festival’s newest attraction: Calle Color ~ a live street chalking exhibition where nationally recognized Madonnari (street painters) will turn an asphalt canvas into a beautiful street of colors and our inaugural High School Street Chalking Competition. Additionally, we will offer more celebrity author lectures and book signings, and a second entertainment area. San Diego County Fair – Del Mar Fairgrounds

2009 Dates
The dates for the 2009 San Diego County Fair are Friday, June 12, through Sunday, July 5, closed two Mondays, June 15 and 22.

There is fun for all at the San Diego County Fair. Exhibits, such as Design in Wood, Fine Art, Home & Hobby, Flower & Garden Show and more, Animals, Rides & Games, Fair Food, Shopping, Sparkletts Water Infield, and Surfside Race Place.

Special Events and Special Days
Nearly every day at the Fair is a special day. For example, Tuesdays are Kids’ Day and Taste of the Fair Tuesday; Wednesdays and Thursdays are Pay-One-Price Ride Day; Thursdays are Seniors’ Day; Thursdays and Fridays are PennySaver Value Day; Saturdays are festival days; and Sundays are Día de la Familia.

La Jolla Festival of the Arts 2009

Last year I went to the annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts, set on the grounds of University of California, San Diego’s East Campus, located three blocks north of UTC, at the corner of Regents Road and Genesee Avenue.

They offered very unique artists and live entertainment!! Spend an hour or spend the day, you will be amazed at how quickly the time passes while you are entertained. Go hungry . . . the food is delicious, my favorite was the chocolate dipped fruit kabobs.
